How to establish a consistent user interface across a variety of different applications?
Challenge.
OLI Systems operated mobile apps, web-based desktop dashboards, and admin interfaces that lacked visual consistency and a centralized design system. This fractured the brand identity and hindered scalability, making the integration of new features or the launch of new products inefficient.
Approach: UI audit & token definition.
The process started with a comprehensive UI audit of the existing applications. The visual direction and tokens were defined in close coordination with stakeholders and development.
Approach: UI design of components.
All necessary UI components were designed, reviewed with stakeholders and development, integrated into the design system, and documented accordingly for development.
My Role.
- Foundation: Defining and structuring the design tokens.
- UI Design: Creating and refining all necessary components within the system.
- Documentation & Handover: Preparing specs for a seamless developer handover.
- Quality Control: Conducting design QA to ensure high-fidelity implementation.
